The Team
The foundations of our practice can be traced back to 1951, and by the time our founder Michael Horrox joined forces with Mike Muirhead in the 1960s, we were well on our way to becoming one of the foremost pig practices in the UK.
Mike sadly passed away in 2003, but will be remembered as a pioneer of many of the husbandry and health practices in common use today.
As a consultancy-based business, our assets are our people, and our strengths lie in our diverse, wide pool of talented vets and support team members.
Some have been pig farmers, some have a pharmaceutical background and some are recent graduates, but all are committed to providing efficient, streamlined, high quality services to our clients.

Our Services
Our services come in several formats, and are usually driven by customer requirements. We also run a full, 24-hour emergency service for our pig clients across the UK and have an experienced in-house dispensary team.
We work with owners, managers and team members to develop and achieve farm specific business goals, such as optimising herd performance, developing and implementing health improvement strategies, maximising efficiency, improving animal and pig welfare and making the best use of medicines on farms.
We can clinically appraise specific problems and offer advice accordingly, and work with producers to set and review production parameters for reproduction and feeding herd performance.
We offer a similar service on a consultancy basis to pig farms worldwide, and have worked with clients in Russia, China, Malta, Sweden, Germany and Romania.
