Embracing and advancing industry innovations and knowledge

  • Garth Pig Practice (Web)-14

As a prominent member of various industry bodies, our involvement with key organisations puts us at the forefront of exposure to current issues and gives us the opportunity to influence policy.

The wider pig veterinary sector is represented by the Pig Veterinary Society, and we’re proud to say that we have former presidents  and a former treasurer (Paul Thompson and Gemma Thwaites) within our team.  Through our involvement with the Pig Veterinary Society, we have represented our sector before the Pig Health and Welfare Council, Red Tractor and Animal Health and Welfare Pathway, to name but a few.

Our team member Gemma Thwaites is also on the National Pig Association committee, allowing us to present our clients with the most up-to-date thinking.

Knowledge transfer is an important component of our work, and we deliver training courses both internally and on behalf of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board.

We strive to be at the forefront of scientific and industry development, in order to pass on knowledge to our clients and provide them with the best business solutions.

That’s why we run our Garth Pig Clubs for clients, as well as periodic seminars and conferences to share our insights and learnings.

We hold positions of office in organisations such as the Pig Veterinary Society and the National Pig Association, and are a generous industry sponsor who regularly support and attend pig discussion groups across the UK.

As a longstanding member of Investors In People, we also understand the importance of supporting and developing our team members, so that we can provide the highest standards of care to our clients.
