HOT WEATHER ALERT
With temperatures potentially reaching 40oC we are going to see sows seriously heat stressed.
- Monitor sows closely for signs of distress - hose down if very hot.
- Turn off lamps and mats in rooms.
- Fill sows' water troughs.
- If possible wet down passageways frequently for evaporative cooling.
- Feed late at night.
- Ensure all drinkers work.
- Outdoor: ensure sows have access to wallows.
